“Turning Stone to Life…”

Are you an art lover, history fan or enjoy a good mystery?

Rosslyn Chapel Art is a perfect blend of all three! Prepare to enjoy some fine art and time travel with me, the artist Eleanor Christopher!

Let me take you on a journey back in time to 15th century Scotland – 1446 to be precise. This is the year the famous carvings of Rosslyn Chapel were created by master stone masons; Gargoyles, flowers, vegetables, green men, angels, devils, dragons, and strange mythical creatures carved out of soft sandstone.  This was the inspiration for my work.

Rosslyn Chapel Art Galleries

There are two galleries of my watercolour paintings: The Rosslyn Stone Garden Collection™ and The Forgotten Faces of Rosslyn™.

My paintings adhere to the original sculptures, yet recreate what might have been all those years ago before the Knights Templar and the ‘holy grail’ association, before almost 600 years of Scottish winters took their toll,  before damage from the Scottish reformation and well before Dan Brown’s ‘Da Vinci Code’ put Rosslyn Chapel on the modern day map. (You see why time travel is needed!)

Take a look at my galleries and online shop and Invite some ‘living’ history into your home.
